KṸR Clothing line

Kasuni Rathnasuriya is the founder and the Creative Director of KṸR, a contemporary women’s wear label. As a brand or rather a label that incorporates Sri Lankan Southern Beeralu lace/other lace, KṸR certainly does live up to its designer’s standard of expressing a sense of freedom and serenity to each and every outfit created. Each and every KṸR creation is a labour of love and caters to those who know the value of arts, local tradition as well as heritage, craftsmanship and to those who are ethically conscious. The KṸR label helps to revitalize a dying craft in Sri Lanka while helping the village women and folk in the southern coastal region of Sri Lanka to become independent.

KṸR has gained many accolades from the fashion industry in Sri Lanka as it has displayed in “Sri Lanka Design Festival” and prestigious “HSBC Colombo Fashion Week” since 2010 to 2013. Further KṸR was the first Sri Lankan clothing label to display at the “Alchemy 2011” South Asian cultural event in Southbank, London, UK.

Kasuni Rathnasuriya is a graduate of the Academy of Design, Sri Lanka and is also a Chartered Marketer and Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. She is an MBA of Postgraduate Institute of Management, which is affiliated to the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
