A PASSION FOR FASHION

‘Fashion’ is an incomplete statement, without the models that bring life to those breathtaking designs. From her warm personality to her chiseled features, Jayani Samarakkody-also known as ‘Jay’-is a much sought after model in Sri Lanka currently. Having worked with some of the best designers & choreographers in the business; she has appeared in numerous photo shoots, music videos, catalogues & featured in the pages of many a fashion magazine.

The twenty two year old beauty, who hails from Kandy, had her preliminary education at Royal Institute & was a banker before her career as a professional model, took off.   “Fashion was my passion since childhood” says Jayani. And seeing her mother appear on cover pages also inspired her to take up modeling.

Describing her profession, Jay says that modeling is a diversifying career, as each day is different; she gets to meet new people & travel extensively. She loves the fact that she’s become a source of inspiration to the people who follow her, which, she says is what she loves most about her job.
